Often children have not had enough practice with hands on activities before tackling abstract math concepts. Specific activities targeting these areas can increase your child's mathematical understanding.
Good readers are phonemically aware, understand the alphabetic principle, apply these skills in a rapid and fluent manner, possess strong vocabularies, know how to create well formed sentences, and are able to relate reading to their own experiences. Difficulties in any of these areas can impede reading development.
Computer and art lessons for adults and children
Need to increase your computer skills? I teach individualized lessons to help you learn the basics of file management, word processing, Photoshop, Indesign, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, and Fireworks and other computer programs.

About the instructor...
Patricia Bentham has over 20 years experience teaching children from kindergarten to grade 12. She am the author of kindergarten-lessons.com, a site that provides ideas to help instructors and parents create an interesting curriculum and learning environment. It also explains how to teach the basic skills young children need to practice.
Patricia also offers art workshops for both adults and children and has been recording observations of her world with pens, pencils, crayons, watercolors, sketchbooks and journals for most of her life.
She has taught “Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain”, and other art techniques to both adults and children and her illustrative work, geared to all ages, has appeared in magazines, advertisements, posters and web sites.
Patricia teaches both private and group art lessons.
